When Two Worlds Became One: The Love Story of Lekamisi and Palesa Lesese

Briefly tell us about your family?

Our family is nuclear, transparent and mutual supportive of each other. We are blessed with two adorable daughters. By Divine’s grace we are praying for a baby boy in the near future. Our hearts hold firm in the belief that our dream of being blessed with a baby boy will indeed become a reality. After seven beautiful years of marriage, we look forward to spending a lifetime together and sharing our story with the world for decades to come.

What are some daily routines that help your family stay connected and happy?

We depend on God’s word and prayer so as to be always connected and happy.

How do you balance work, parenting, and quality time together as a family?

It is very hectic as we have so much to do. Our kids are still at a very tender age, so it is really not easy being parents and employees at the same time. Yet, somehow, we manage. When we return from work, we take turns helping our kids with homework. Some days we come back home from work exhausted and longing to sleep without doing anything. Most of our time is dedicated to parenting, not ourselves, as we lovingly instill good moral values and principles in our children. This shared purpose not only strengthens their foundation but also keeps our connection strong.

How do you navigate individual differences in marriage?

We compromise, prioritise and accommodate each other’s differences in our marriage. Marriage is a blessing, for it to be enjoyable, we get used to our differences and make them work as a team, in a nut-shell I would say our differences is what attracted us to be with each other from the first place.

In the light of high spousal/partner abuse, what advice may you provide to other families?

In my view GBV is the root of marriage failure. Let us learn to respect each other as married couples, respect our differences.  Avoid going to bed angry with each other and invite God in the marriage. Devine’s goodness shall guide and lead the way.
